RYA online courses
Lounge Yachting is the first RYA Shore-based Training Centre in Bulgaria to offer the RYA and Navathome online courses that can be completed both at home and at sea. We are offering this form of teaching for people with a busy day schedule and for those who prefer to learn at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home and privacy. The e-learning experience is the choice of many people restricted by their schedule or geographical location.
The multi-media presentation (text, audio, video, animation) improves your learning and makes it easier to understand and remember the theory by visualising its use in practice. You can learn at your own speed and you can repeat an exercise or a whole theoretical pattern as much as you need!
The online course can be taken anywhere worldwide and is guided by a certified experienced tutor from Lounge Yachting working on behalf of RYA and Navathome who will help you get through the modules if necessary. The only MUST is a computer and an access to the internet!
Important info regarding the personal data:
To enable access to your online course we need to share some of your personal data with the RYA via your user profile in www.ryainteractive.org. This learning management website is hosted and maintained by a third party called Learning Pool, who will not use your personal information for any reason other than enabling your course.
Your name and email address will be entered on www.ryainteractive.org in order to create your user account. On your first access to the site, you will be asked to enter your address and date of birth. You will have access to the site for one year in order to complete your online course. During this period, your personal information will be held on the website by Learning Pool and be available to this training centre and the RYA for the purpose of managing your course.
Instructional support will be provided by this training centre for a period of 6 months from the date of your course booking.
On completion of your course, your name, email, date of birth and address will be transferred to the RYA’s central database for the purpose of recording details of the course and any certification you gain as a result of it. This information allows the RYA to record your certification, to update any records they may already hold about you or your qualifications and to verify your certificate if required. After one year from the date of your enrolment on the course, your user account will be removed from www.ryainteractive.org.

VHF SRC online course
A course for anyone going at sea on vessels equipped with a fixed or a handheld marine VHF radio. A Radio is an important piece of safety equipment onboard and it is very important to understand the correct procedures. The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling (DSC).
VHF SRC (Short Range Certificate) online course is of use to anyone who has a busy schedule and wants to study with their own pace. The online course gives the opportunity to learn online from any location in the world. The only MUST is to be online!
The interactive online VHF DSC course gives the theoretical knowledges of the rules of the marine radio communication, the correct use of the channels and frequencies and thanks to the VHF simulator gives you the chance to exercise and record numerous times the most important procedures Distress (Mayday), Urgency (Pan Pan), safety and Routine calls. Every module ends with a knowledge test check and exercises.
After the completion of the online course you are prepared for the final exam at the RYA Lounge Yachting Training centre, which includes a 30 minutes written test and hands on practice on the Standard Horizon VHF/DSC fixed radio stations.

(An extra Exam fee of 60 £ should be paid when conducting the exam)

Essential Navigation & Seamanship online course
The Interactive Essential Navigation and Seamanship online course gives the basic theoretical knowledge of navigation, pilotage, rules of the road, buoyage, anchoring and safety to beginners or very little experienced skippers and crew. The course is also aimed at water sport users, jets skiers, sea angling or diving etc.
The course is very informative and includes a various exercises and knowledge check test and can be taken anywhere where there is a computer and an internet connection, anytime depending on your schedule and at your own speed.
If you have basic theoretical navigational knowledges and experience sailing or motor cruising, a quick consultation with an RYA Instructor at the RYA Lounge Yachting training centre will help determine if the Dayskipper theory online course would not be the better option for you.

Day Skipper online course
Delivered by Navathome, a RYA Recognised Training Centre specialising in online training.
The Interactive RYA Dayskipper online course is the perfect choice for unexperienced sailors or Skippers with little experience. The course gives an extensive and detailed introduction to cruising (under sail and power) in coastal familiar, tidal and non-tidal waters.
The interactive animated graphics and audio narration helps you visualise and assimilate easier the theoretical material. Other advantages are the option to learn whenever you have time and wherever you are, with no classroom pace and pressure to keep up.
Concerning the navigational exercises and the knowledges tests after each module you can refer to a licensed RYA Instructor working on behalf of Navathome providing feedback and help to a student who has a trouble submitting the right answer by Skype, email etc.
Anyone willing to complete the RYA Day Skipper Practical course will need to know the Day Skipper theory syllabus.

RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster online course
Delivered by Navathome, a RYA Recognised Training Centre specialising in online training.
Advanced training for more experienced Skippers building on the Day Skipper Shorebased course. This course equips you with the knowledge to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages. It allows some time for revision of the basics and then moves on to advanced navigation techniques.
Course content
Course topics include: Position fixing, course shaping and plotting, tidal knowledge and calculations, tidal streams, tidal diamonds, use of almanacs and admiralty publications, electronic position finding equipment, interpreting forecasts, plotting weather systems, weather predictions using a barometer and by observation, collision regulations, customs regulations for cruising abroad etc.
